Ebenezer God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; πολυμερως και πολυτροπως παλαι ο θεος λαλησας τοις πατρασιν εν τοις προφηταις. επ εσχατων των ημερων τουτων ελαλησεν ημιν εν υιω ον εθηκεν κληρονομον παντων δι ου και τους αιωνας εποιησεν האלהים אשר דבר מקדם פעמים רבות ובפנים שנים אל אבתינו ביד הנביאים דבר אלינו באחרית הימים האלה ביד בנו׃ אשר נתנו ליורש כל וגם עשה בידו את העולמות׃ The first verse highlights the fact that God, the Creator and Lord of all, has deigned to communicate with humanity at many instances throughout history. The idea that the creator of the universe would communicate with his creation should be a source of awe, hope, and joy for us.
