Ancient Corinth was a city-state in southern Greece, located on the Isthmus of Corinth, a narrow strip of land that connects the Peloponnese peninsula to mainland Greece. It was one of the most important cities in ancient Greece, with a rich history that spanned several centuries.  Biblical Significance Ancient Corinth has significant biblical importance as it was visited by the apostle Paul during his second missionary journey, as described in the New Testament book of Acts. In the Bible, Corinth is mentioned several times, particularly in the letters of Paul. In his first letter to the Corinthians, Paul addresses issues within the Christian community in Corinth, such as division and immorality.
